Through the sharing of string-related knowledge, the Journal of Southern African Strings forms one of the four pillars of the South African Strings Foundation (SASF). The Journal of Southern African Strings will serve as a driving force for innovative research in string performance and pedagogy, specifically within the context of Southern Africa. As such, the journal will help broaden views, deepen contextual understandings, and stimulate and support ongoing, high level learning within the Southern African strings community. Not only will this platform aid in the establishment of a vibrant Southern African strings community, but it also intends to give this community an international reach and recognition while simultaneously strengthening its connectedness to the academy.
