Mission.
The goal of the South African Strings Foundation (SASF) is to provide annual string-focused projects that are dedicated to represent, support, develop and promote the diversity and creativity of string performance, pedagogy, and research in Southern Africa. These smaller projects build up to the highlight event in the SASF calendar – the biannual South African Strings Convention.
Vision.
At the heart of the South African Strings Foundation are four pillars of value and virtue: to inspire, learn, share, and connect. With these pillars as the cornerstones, we envision the SASF to become a steadfast resource for an ever-growing and vibrant South African strings community. This will ensure high teaching and performance standards, increase awareness of the significance of music education, provide more work opportunities, and improve the documentation of local string methodology as well as install a sense of community among South African string players.
